Do you give binding quotes?

Over the phone, a mover or broker may give you a quote that is generally not binding. A mover may give a binding, or “not to exceed” quote upon reviewing your items in person. Brokers don’t typically give binding quotes.

Does the quote include extra charges?

For example – flight charges, long carry charges, appliance charges, parking charges, storage charges, fuel charges, awkward objects, etc. If you have a piano, you should let them know right up front. Ask them if they have equipment to help with heavy and awkward items.

What forms of payment do you accept and on what terms?

We don’t recommend that you hire movers if they only accept cash; be sure you are clear about the amount that is due on delivery versus the deposit amount, and whether deposits are refundable. Most companies that have a merchant account will accept credit cards so be sure to ask if credit cards are an option.

What type of insurance is included in your quote? What else is available to me?

Basic coverage is $.60 cents per pound but your moving company may offer an upgrade at a reasonable price. You can also work with 3rd party insurance providers to cover the move.

Once my goods leave Anchorage, what's the actual transit Time.

We are a federally appointed Motor carrier, so we have to abide by all Commercial driving requirement, we are limited to certain number of hours we can driver per day, example. 15 hours per day while in Alaska and parts of Canada, then the hours drop to 11 hours per day once in certain states, once our Drivers hit 7 days they are required to take a 34 hour “reset” this all slows the process down, however does help with keeping our drivers safe. Generally it take 3-4 days through Canada, another 2-4 days to reach the south West region like Arizona and Texas.

What if my items are damaged?

When shipping your items several thousand miles there is often damage, although we do our best to prevent this, a damaged item, scuff, ding is bound to happen, we offer .60 per pound of any damage item, there are several other 3rd party insurance companies that can provide with additional coverage.

How many times will my items be moved?

Twice, once when we pick up from your home, and again when we load into our long haul trailer.

Who offloads my items at my new home?

We have local partners all over the country that provide the labor to offload your items, we contract and pay for this, as part of your estimate.

Do you ship cars?

Yes.

Is the transportation of my goods completed by a 3rd party or contract vendor?

No, our trucks, trailers and drivers our owned and employed by us. We do not contract anyone for this.

How much notice will I have before my items at my door step?

We advise you the day your items have left Anchorage, and then again 1 day before your items arrive to your new home, we pick a time that works for you to have the offloading completed.

Will items be assembled and put into the correct areas of my home?

Yes, we expect you to be onsite during this part of the move directing the Movers, we will also haul away all paper used to protect your items while in transit.
